Two Legends Enter a New Era

Ducati

Bianchi Reparto Corse and Ducati Corse, who have written some of the most thrilling pages in the history of competitive sports, now have teamed up to develop a new line of ultimate racing bicycles. Introducing the Factory 900XR, 900R and 900, which combine both companies' expertise in materials technology and competitive passion. The three Factory models are available respectively with Campagnolo Record, Chorus or Centaur groups.

Coppi

The collaboration between Bianchi and Ducati is the result of a shared philosophy regarding attention to detail, perfect lines and an ongoing research into groundbreaking technical solutions. It is a partnership that reflects the excitement and momentum particular to Italian technology and design. The result is a bicycle designed by Bianchi to celebrate the successes of Ducati Corse.

The new Ducati Corse by Bianchi has new forms, measurements and tubing. High-modulus carbon fiber and hyperalloy aluminum have been utilized to ensure greater rigidity, lightness and performance.

Technology

Performance at the absolute top:

  • Extreme lightness (900 grams Carbon Road);
  • High stiffness in the more critical frame areas (bb-set and headset);
  • Extreme and specific geometries for all bicycles in the range.

The frame assembly technology called Tube-to-Tube (T3), consists in the making of the single tubing through a mechanical processing carried out with absolute precision to help the assembly and structural gluing using special aeronautical glues, of the single tubing and parts such as the bb-set, rear dropouts (also made in carbon fiber).

After the frame is assembled, the junction points are reinforced even more with the addition of carbon pieces (banding), then put in suitable molds, one for each size, and polymerized at high temperature and pressure in order to obtain a homogeneous unit. The advantage that this technology offers compared to the monocoque frame is that it avoids using filling foams at the junction points, banding the tubing to each other with the least amount of material required for stiffening, and saving the non-structural weight of the filling materials.

The frame's resulting weight and rigidity avoid sacrificing even a Watt of power. High-modulus carbon fiber MR60 and HR40 employed with Tube-to-Tube technology, which guarantees precision couplings between the single tubing and maximum control of the reinforcement fibers, allowing for an extremely high ratio between rigidity and weight (900 grams for the road frame, size 55).

fitting

Bianchi Research and Development labs conducted rigorous testing for stiffness and tensile strength as well as collision tests according to the newly enacted international standards (CEN14781). Augmenting this research are multiple on-road tests performed by various types of riders, which further advance the performance delivered by the Factory frame.
